    SCHEDULE: Odd Block Schedule
     
    GENERAL: 
    - Today through Friday - Western will be participating in Chalk the Walk, a community-wide event where people are encouraged to fill sidewalks with supportive and positive messages to raise awareness about mental health. If you'd like to do this during your lunches, breaks or study halls, please communicate with your teacher and you can find chalk either in Ms. Vanden Bosch, Mrs. Khang or Mr. Pollema's office. 
    - Students interested in serving on Student Council for the 2026–27 school year are invited to attend an informational meeting in the HUB on Tuesday, May 12, at 6:00 PM.  If you have any questions, please reach out to Hailey Ammons by email at Hailey.Ammons@westernchristianhs.com or connect with her at school.
     
    COLLEGE ANNOUNCEMENTS: 
     - Billie Steufert, Dordt Academic and Career Advisor of Online Programs will be here over lunch on Friday, May 8.

    ATHLETICS:
    - Baseball and softball practices start this week. Anyone interested in going out can head to practice and talk with the coaches.  

    Ag/FFA: 
    - Western Christian FFA Banquet is at 6 pm on May 5 in the EC. All FFA members need to be there at 5:45. 
    - While the EC is being set up for the FFA Banquet, we ask that students please stay out of that area during breaks. Thanks for your cooperation!!

    COLLEGE/SCHOLARSHIP ANNOUNCEMENTS: 
    - Seniors: Just a reminder that the Jenner Johnson scholarship essay is due today. If you are attending a community college and entering the skilled trades, please see the scholarship spreadsheet for information.
     
    AG/FFA:
    - Western Christian FFA Banquet is at 6 pm on May 5 in the EC. All FFA members need to be there at 5:45. 
     
    ATHLETICS:
    - Girls and boys golf will be out all day today for a tournament. Girls' golf is at Spencer, and boys' golf is at Spirit Lake. 
    - Girls and boys soccer play Spencer tonight. The boys are home, and the girls are away. The girls' bus leaves at 3:00. 
    - Girls and boys track and field host their home meet tonight at Hesla Field. Field events start at 4:30, with running starting at 4:45.
